Latest results.  You'll notice that during session 33 I broke my progression rule and played a 27$ buy-in.  I did this on purpose as I was starting to play sloppy and lazy and wanted to re-focus.  Luckily it worked.

Any questions, just ask.

Matt

Thanks X and D,

I haven't been playing much (online) as of late as I was on the road for the past couple weeks, and before that I was focusing on making the WSOP via the steps on PokerStars... which I didn't make  :'(

I'll be back at the tables soon enough.

Hey Matty! Great results.

Please tell me how much is your SNG experience ?! Since when you are playing poker and etc.. :dance1:

also do you play commercial rooms like poker-stars and full-tilt or some other smaller poker room?!

BEST REGARDS and keep up the good results

edit: i forgot to ask you what's your playing style, do you play argressive in beggining like most SNG players do(i think its mistake) or you have some other technique?

MattyMattz

Hey Haribekur,

I like to play mostly on pokerstars.  I like to play many hands at the start of SNG, but not aggressively.  But I do change it up frequently.  You need to feel out your table.

Cheers,
Matt

Very nice results Matty.

I've thought about doing that for a long time now. . . the same you are doing by playing soley sng's and profitting an exclusive amount every day and applying a small progression as well.   I unfortunately just never had the patience for that and I'm hoping I've overcome that now and will be able to start.

Matt do you set yourself a stop loss during play?
How long on average do you find your sng's last?

If I may ask are you still playing this way and what is your current bankroll?

I think if one can play cards even just fairly and has the patience this would be a great way to slowly build.

Hey mate I am pretty sure Matty is still playing this way, but he made a large withdrawal recently so maybe he is the best to answer your questions.

Cheers

Hey Hayatt,

yep still playing, although was not online for a while (live games come first).  I'm back over 1000$ after withdrawing close to 3000$ for some home repairs that needed attention.

No I don't have a stop loss, but that's mainly because I've never really encountered a bad losing streak.

I play almost exclusively Turbo SNG's, so they last an hour max.

Good luck!
Matt

Hey mattymatz just wanted to get an update of how your still holding up?  Still playing poker constantly?

I was thinking about doing this for making anywhere from $20-$30 a day playing online poker with a $1000 bank.   Tell me what you think.   And let's say I'm an above average player.

I'll start by buying into two tables . 25/. 50 with $25 per table.  9max.   Once i hit my goal on either table etc: i'll leave and call it a day.  If I lose I'm down $50.

Then I'll buy into a . 50/$1 table with $50 each and so on.

so in other words like a progression sorta I guess.   You think this would be dangerous?  Some advice would be appreciated.   Thanks.

I have alot of experience both playing bigger and smaller stakes so the stakes wouldn't have an effect on me.   Just looking to make some solid extra income.

MattyMattz

Hey Hayaatt,

Yes, that definately sounds doable.  About 2 years back I did something a little similar.  I played low open tables (around .10/.25) and played about 12-15 tables at once, each with a BR of 20$.  As soon as I made around 20$ for the day, that was it.  It worked well.

I don't play much in open games anymore though, just because I like the tourney format better.

I would suggest using a 50% MM Plan for your idea.

Hope that helps - what site do you play on?  I haven't played alot lately as I've been traveling but will be back at it soon enough!

Cheers,
Matt

Hayaatt

Hey,

Thanks again for your advice.  I"m playing on Stars now at the moment.  My main problem has been controlling myself and keeping myself calm with bad beats etc: and not ever knowing when to leave a table or call it quits for the day.

So I've finally said to myself that I was just going to make an X amount per day and call it quits.  Hopefully I can keep to my plan and stick with it.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

So Matt when you opened up 10-15 tables all sitting with $20 each.  Once you made a $20 profit between all tables you just left and called it quits for the day?

Did you ever have any losing sessions, meaning you didn't hit your $20 goal?  If so how often?
How long did you play this way?

You think after playing this way for a few months and being successful then it would be ok to move up and say target $40 a day?  etc:?  Thanks again.

Hayaatt
