Raise your hand if you've ever won in a casino.

Wow, that sure is a whole lot of hands. Pretty much every single one of us. Winning, at some time or another. Wonderful.

Now, raise your hand if you've lost more money than you've won in a casino.

Oh, oh. More hands. Much more. (Mine included.)

So, bottom line. Aren't we MORE EXPERIENCED at losing than we are at winning? Sure we are. So, if that's the case, why is it that we all don't know HOW to lose? Yeah, that's right. HOW TO LOSE!

Let's begin with this realization: No one (well, no one with their best interests at heart), no one likes to lose. And, guess what? That's not necessarily a very good thing. Our very nature makes us want to gwet back our losses. RIGHT NOW. After all, someone took something from us, and our mind is saying "I want that back, NOW!". Tsk, tsk.....

First of all, UNLEARN that habit. You be much better served NOT to want to make up those losses RIGHT NOW. Rather, you'd do well to set conservative loss limits and, more importantly, STICK TO THEM. I know, you want it back now. It's part of our make up. It's only natural. Life sucks, don't it? Too bad. ACCEPT THE LOSS. In fact, EMBRACE THE LOSS. It only means that you're THAT MUCH CLOSER TO A WINNING SESSION.

Ever hear the expression, "You can't win 'em all"? Well, guess what? You can't.

So, the next time when:

1.) You just can't "buy" a decent card.....

2.) You couldn't pick a winner if your life depended on it.....

3.) Your dealer sucks.....

4.) Every bet you put up is "evaporating into the atmosphere".....

5.) Your shoes are too tight.....

OK, OK you get the drift. Excuses, all. Answer:

GET THE **CK OUT OF THE CHAIR. (yeah, it's HECK....yeah, right)

Live to fight another day, or, at least, another session. Oh, and ANOTHER. And ANOTHER.

Learn how to lose. You'll be better off for it.
