The "Holy Grail" method is based on / simillar to the above mentioned systems.
Instead of the martingale progression, we use a simple 1,2,3,4,5 (+1 unit) progression.
Where-as in the 1 unit per visit method we only play 1 number - With this method we are going to change that to include more numbers.
The initial cycle of 37 spins is the same though.
If we haven't experienced a win during this cycle, we add 1 unit to the bet amount, and also add 1 number (so now playing 2 numbers). The number added is the next in line that has the least number of showings.
What to do after a win ? The winner is removed and the other bet remains until either it shows, or the 37/38 spin cycle completes.
Let's say for example that we are now playing 2 numbers at 2 units each. One of them shows at spin 10 of the cycle. We remove it and continue with 1 number at 2 units. The cycle completes and still no win. We add 1 to the unit amount (now 3 units) and also (again) add the number that has the least number of showings. This will result in 2 numbers being played at 3 units each.
The ONLY time we reset back to 1 number at 1 unit is when every number being played on the table wins. (this happens all the time, no worries here)
So here is a longer example -
We begin with 1 number and 1 unit on it.
37/38 spins go by and no win.
We begin now 2 numbers each with 2 units on them.
One of the numbers win, the other doesn't.
Our next cycle starts 2 numbers with 3 units each.
One of the numbers win, the other doesn't.
Our next cycle starts 2 numbers with 4 units each.
None of the numbers win during the cycle.
Our next cycle is 3 numbers with 5 units each.
All 3 numbers win, we reset to 1 number at 1 unit.
This can and will NEVER go "out of control". Believe it or not, the chart below done by hand had 3 numbers MAX being played at any time. Better yet, the most ever placed on the table in total for 1 spin was only 21 units !
Now, like the "1 unit per visit" method, not every win ends up putting us into profit - this is a grind at times to get by.
And before scrolling down to see the bankroll balance, remember - this is only 1 unit ($1.00) being used as the base amount ! There's nothing stopping you from using a much higher chips size since we have a controlled progression that at most required 21 units.
(nice ?) I think so.
Again, to pick the number to play - choose the number that has the least number of hits (this number will also be the most negative as far as standard deviation). If there are more than 1 number to choose from - just pick one ! So long as you stay with that number throughout the entire cycle and don't jump around.
=========================
Now, before posting this - I decided to use a different bet selection method as a "control group". This would show me whether the choice in numbers was actually making a difference or not. The critics will say that "pick and old number and you'll have the same chance/outcome" but this is false.
The control test shows (maybe proves) that bet selection can and does make an important difference when playing a system !
So, below is the "control" test where I picked numbers to bet on only by their numberical order (1,2,3,4) and the results :

Nothing to write home about :) It has it's ups and downs but nothing you would want to play for sure.

Now we look at the test using the above mentioned bet selection method :

Quite possibly the Holy Grail.
A few reasons :
The progression is contained. There is never a case possible where you will have to bet on a large amount of numbers because however many you are playing will all show within one cycle and you begin back at 1 unit and 1 number.
This above is based on a small 1.00 chip value.
The bankroll balance can be greatly magnified by using higher chip values.
==============
It's important to note (not mentioned above) that when you are playing 1 number and it shows - the spin count resets as well for a "new" cycle of 37/38 spins.
Each time you have a win, while playing only 1 number - a new cycle of spins begins.
If your playing more than 1 number, all of them have to win.
The longer you can record only - before placing any bets the better !
For example - record until "ALL" numbers have shown and then begin. The further you record, the better data you'll have. It also narrows the available amount of numbers down to only 1 or 2 and wins are more reliable.

Further explanation / sample |
Here is another example (more detailed) Hope it clears up any confusion :)
System example.
(ran off spins until all numbers had at least 1 show)
135 spins least that any number has shown is 1 time (numbers 2,10,20,22,27) so I choose #2 #2 is played for 37 spins - or until it wins - at 1 unit.
37 spins later and it has not shown. Now I add another number, in this case #27 is the number (aside from #2) with the least amount of shows. #2 and #27 are played for 37 spins - or until both win - at 2 units each.
1 spin later #2 wins (we are at +31 units) so we remove the bet on #2 and continue with 2 units on #27 only.
17 spins and #27 shows (both have won) and we are at +71 units. We reset our spin count and look for where to play next. The least that any number has shown is 2 shows. #25 and #27 - so I choose #25 at 1 unit for 37 spins.
7 spins later it wins, we are at +100 units.
We reset our spin count and look for where to play next. The least that any number has shown is 2 shows. #27 - so I play #27 at 1 unit for 37 spins.
28 spins later it wins, we are at +108 units.
We reset our spin count and look for where to play next. The least that any number has shown is 3 shows. #10 and #27 so I choose #10 at 1 unit for 37 spins.
37 spins later and it has not shown. Now I add another number, in this case #27 is the number (aside from #10) with the least amount of shows. #10 and #27 are played for 37 spins - or until both win - at 2 units each.
37 spins later and it has none of them shows. Now I add another number, in this case #22 is the number (aside from #10 and #27) with the least amount of shows. #10, #22 and #27 are played for 37 spins - or until both win - at 3 units each.
2 spins and #27 wins (we are at +13 units) so we remove the #27 bet and continue the cycle. 6 spins later #22 wins (we are at +85 units) so we remove the #22 bet and continue the cycle. and 20 spins later #10 wins (we are at +157 units)
We reset our spin count and look for where to play next. The least that any number has shown is 4 shows. #10 and #27 so I choose #10 at 1 unit for 37 spins.
16 spins later it wins, we are at +177 units.
We reset our spin count and look for where to play next. The least that any number has shown is 4 shows. #27 so I choose #27 at 1 unit for 37 spins.
37 spins later and it has not shown. Now I add another number, in this case #3 is the number (aside from #27) with the least amount of shows. #3 and #27 are played for 37 spins - or until both win - at 2 units each.
11 spins and #27 wins (we are at +168 units) so we remove the #27 bet and continue the cycle. 21 spins and #3 wins (we are at +220 units).
