I'm trying to put my Lw registry's into excel. Does anyone know how you can paste it so that every w or L goes into a separate column and row? If this is even possible...  :scratch_ones_head:

Thanx in advance,
Vix

Marven

Hey vix,

I'm no Excel geek or anything, but this is what I do:

I put the Lw's vertically like this:

w
L
L
w
w
L

Then select them, copy, right click on a cell in excel, paste, and you shall get the Lw's pasted vertically in a column (from your selected cell down).

Regards,
Marv

Hey Vix  :)

While thinking about your problem, I was searching the web for the translations of the formulas that I use in excel.

I guess you already got your answer, there are people quick to react here  ;)

Nevertheless I came across this very interesting site in my opinion, in so far as it explains things about excel that I, for one, although reasonably trained in that particular field, did not know of. In addition, I cannot remember having seen those tweaks and tricks anywhere else, certainly not in the provided help or manual.

So here it is, not something that can be clicked, due to forum rules : pearson . com / excel/

Cheers  :)

Ok, thanks for the help guys! :good:
So, to be able to put an Lw registry in excel like this:

LD:wLnolinkswwLLnolinksnolinkswwLnolinksw-wLwwLwwLwwLnolinksLwLww-wLLwLLLww
JD:wwLLwLnolinkswwLLLwwLwLwLw-LnolinkswwLwLwwLLnolinksnolinks-nolinksLnolinksLL
LC:nolinkswwLLLLnolinkswwLLwLLnolinks-LwLnolinksnolinksLnolinkswwLLww-LLLnolinkswLw
JC:wLLnolinksnolinkswwLLLwwLnolinksww-wLwLnolinksnolinksLLwLLnolinksw-nolinkswLwLwL

I would have to retype it?
I want every w and L to be in a single cell so I can see which bets happen simultaneously,
does that make sense?

Yea, that's what I was thinking. Then I might as well type them into rows to begin with.

I have cookies

Vix i use a note pad and it works well and you can use very long LW-Registry with it.

Cheers

vix

Do you mean a real note pad or notepad on the computer?

Stepydan

Hi again Vix  :)

It all depends on the program you used to get your tracks at first.

If you use MS notepad, then as Marven told you, you just put every "w" or "L" one under another. Then there is absolutely no problem to import the track into excel.
But you'll have to open a separate notepad for each track, to avoid mess. Not handy, but then you import the LD track into one column, then the JD into next one, etc. When done you can read for each row what happened simultaneously within the four tracks at each spin.

If the program you used recorded things in one row per track, which I believe it did by reading your posts, then the included excel file might do what you want. I made it so you just copy - paste your original tracks into B1, B2, etc (see the file). You will have all dispatched up to 100 spins. Study it and it should not take long to figure out how to do it yourself. It it just a case of using the "LEFT" and "RIGHT" functions.

But if there is no way for you to copy - paste anything (into "text" form), then your only option would be to retype it  :(
I hope not.

Cheers  :)

Wow, stepydan, thanks so much for your time! That works perfectly  :clapping:

One question though, would it be possible to have more than one registry on one page? I tried, but failed   :(
