Does Having a Winning System Mean You'll Win In The Casino?

Say you master card counting at your kitchen table and you go to the casino hoping to win. There's a good chance the stress of playing for real will make you such a bad counter that it does you no good at all. This applies to all games where skill is required. Poker players who are great online often fall apart in the casino. They can't think straight, they make big mistakes, are super nervous, and stay online where they are safe in front of the screen.

If you have a system that requires any kind of thinking or concentration, you'll never do as good in the casino as you do at home. I would say the stress of real play effects your ability to concentrate by about 30%. You'll miss the nuances that you easily catch at home. The part of your brain that thinks and takes in and processes outside information (seeing and hearing), is the same part of your brain that you concentrate with. So any kind of stress, even small amounts, interfere with and overload that part of your brain and makes concentration much harder.

The bottom line is you have to have a really great winning system at home if you want to do well in the casino. The one thing all pro's have in common in every sport, every game, is their ability to play under pressure.

That's why a winning system should be easy and straightforward. Even at home in front the PC when the stakes get higher you start making stupid decisions that later make you feel angry.

The less complicated the better. K.I.S.S., Keep it simple, stupid.

 :ok: Spike,
you are very true. playing online and in live casino is altogether different experiences. In live casino sometimes we get confused, ashamed and often forget to use any system at all. There are lots of pressure around. You can avoid it by having an equally skilled companion with you. If you are a pro, then you'll know how to handle it yourself.

it should but as mentioned above its the pressure and some times the long wait that can kill you

ive also experienced distractions and being rushed to place my bets

best advice - go to casino when its almost empty - get used to live play and then gain the confidence for rush hour
