I've added a slide-up ad, but only guests should see it. Once you are logged in, you shouldnt be able to see it or any ads. If anyone finds otherwise, please let me know.

Not complaining, but since you asked. . . . . . on rouletteforum. cc, I'm getting the slide-up every time, even though I'm logged in and have been a member for several months (I'm pretty sure that's your site, also).   Not here at vls, though.

kevster

Apologies, I would have completed the last post and this one over at rouletteforum. cc, but with the slide-up ad, the "post" or submit button is not accessible.

Thanks-

nitrix

I say it's a good way to generate revenues (: and I can bare with it.

I just don't like the fact you can't close it, like a [X] button in the right corner... that'd be awesome.

Oh and, on the iPhone it shows in the middle of the screen, making reading the posts nearly impossible x]

But maybe it's just me :]

kevster

Even though I understand the need to generate revenue, I don't like the fact that you can't close it either.   On my netbook, the ad swallows up half the screen, so with that plus the browser, I'm reading posts at the rate of a couple of sentences at a time.

Hard on the eyes.

Steve

I'm away but back on about 15th, and will correct this then. It should be that any member doesnt see it once logged in.

Steve

Try now. Any member who is logged in shouldnt see the ad. Please confirm this.

kevster

Thank you SO much for taking care of that, Steve-it's fixed.

To Steve re: slide up advert.   - Free Winning Roulette System.    This advert.  has at least a couple of flaws with unintended consequences?  Often I just like to browse the forum without logging in.   The slide up ad blocks access with no provision to click it off? ( "X"  as already mentioned by others ) I decided to log in my email as setout in the ad to see what it was all about.   It put info.  onto my email.   But when I clicked on the web address on your info it looped back to the basic blurb that's available on the slide up advert? I couldn't get directly to the PDF?  Also the slide up ad.  hides some writing lower down which may be relevant to things? Overall in its present format I give this ad.  a big F = FAIL.   Also I think that, like me, guests could be turned off as the ad.  is intrusive and blocks free forum access.  After all surely most members were ONLY GUESTS in the beginning?

PS.  I posted here because I couldn't see how to reply directly to your post?

Steve - my error on the direct reply - misread the layout sorry.

nitrix

I for myself, have been a Guest for nearly 5 months before registering a week ago.

I agree with you -some- ads are a turn off.

When it's within the page I don't really mind.
I just skip it or sometimes click when it's relevant to me...
I mean, at least you make the choice, it's not intrusive!

At the opposite you have the pop-ups, pop-unders and sliding thingies you can't close...

Anyway, I know VLS have a richer content than any other site.
Otherwise I'd probably be complaining a bit more (:

Good luck on that when you get some time Steve.
I know how hard it can be to please everyone, specially with the Internets.

Ok but I'm unclear now is there an error or not?

Also I understand some people may want to browse without logging in, but to make that possible for non-signed in members, it would then apply to all guests which is the intended target. So that wouldnt be possible. It may be intrusive but logged in members dont see it.

nitrix

Its kinda hard to register on rouletteforum.cc, the ad is blocking the captcha (the image code that you have to type in) well at least on my resolution 1920x1080.
