Redefining our forum: Downloads section (and some comments)

Downloads section taken down only today to comply with copyright laws.

It will be back tomorrow.

Other changes like uploads approval and other measures to be implemented. We faced a real thread of the site being taken down by DMCA violation. (And I truly mean bye bye... the ownership of the website taken from us).

[highlight]You guys have ALL THE RIGHTS to discuss and share actual systems/methods as the systems "per se" are not protected by copyright...[/highlight]



[highlight]It is the EXPRESSION of such system, particular to the author of the document what gets copy-rights[/highlight], and this means copying PDF documents verbatim and using the exact words from the sellers' documents.

You guys then can discuss systems freely as those methods are not protected by copyright, as long as it is in your own words, and not verbatim from other's work.

At the moderator's lounge we are compiling a thread for the reference area to educate our users about copyright laws, as to not face system sellers' liability claims anymore.

Other changes are being implemented specially the way messages are taken down. Today we are redefining our forum in many aspects, moderating included.

Whether it be right or wrong, I will not alter a person's words to reveal his system to the world.  I told more of the 3qA method than I should have.

A man labors to write a book and the next day it's on the internet and he makes not a plug nickle from his sweat.  Not right.  Our American movies are shown in theaters in some countries before they even open here.  Not right.

Now, to write an editorial and give an opinion on the property is another story.  That I'll do. 

People send me copyrighted systems and software because they know I will test them and report back.  Even then, I feel I'm on the wrong side because I have fun testing the thing. 

You know, I was screwed out of a million-dollar idea at a young age, so I guess I'm biased!!

Text can be protected, but not roulette system ideas.

A roulette system idea, though, can be shared without the permission of the "so called inventor".  The reason is that it is easily argued that any particular roulette system is already common knowledge and has been so for more than 100 years.  The only thing that has likely changed over time is the wording.  This means, every roulette system you can find on the internet can be freely shared, provided that you simply change some of the wording.  There are no intellectual property rights for roulette systems.

If someone claims to have a patented roulette system, then simply request the patent number to verify that it is a legitimate claim.

You do the right thing IMO.

I think it's quite simple:
If you want to spread/post/upload a method and it's not in your own words: don't.
