$10 CRAWL SYSTEM

Editor's Note: Richard L. Doppler is a multi-degreed
professor of mathematics and applied sciences and
has authored a few craps books. This is not one of
his plans. The math is his.

The application of his knowledge of higher mathematics
to the development of money management and betting
strategies for the game of Craps and Pari-Mutual
wagering in particular and casino games and sports in
general has been his avocation for over twenty years.
His articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines
and he has been a frequent talk show guest throughout
the country.

We all know that the odds on the come-out favor the shooter.
After the come-out, the odds favor the Don't Pass. Did you
ever stop to consider the odds on the shooter making four
passes?

The odds against four consecutive sevens are 1,296 to 1.
The odds against four consecutive 11's are a whopping
104,976 to 1! The odds are hugely in your favor that
the shooter will not throw four consecutive naturals
(7 or 11).

Of course, if a point is thrown, the odds then favor
the Don't player. Armed with this information, I have been
playing, successfully, the following "10-Dollar Crawl System"
for years:

a) Starting Bankroll - any increment of $200
b) Wagering Sequence:
1) Bet a $10 Don't Pass
2) If the shooter makes a natural (7 or 11) or establishes a
point and then makes that - you lose.
3) If the shooter throws a Craps (2 or 3) or establishes his
point and then 7's out - you win.
4) If you win, go back to the original $10 bet and start the
cycle again.
5) If you lost your $10 bet - wager a $20 Don't Pass bet.
If this bet is lost, wager a $40 Don't Pass bet.
And, if you lose the $40 Don't Pass bet, wager an $80 Don't Pass.
c) The total amount lost - if all 4 bets were losers is $150.
d) Simply, you are betting $150 that the shooter does not make
four consecutive passes (any combination of naturals or points).
No matter which of the passes miss, you win $10. If five
consecutive shooters fail to make the four passes in a row you
are now ahead $50.
e) When the shooter makes four-passes in a row, the bettor
must stop!

Wrap it up for this session.

Your bankroll does not justify continuing.

As You no doubt have witnessed in the past, the shooter might
"go on forever".

f) You have already set your loss limit ($150), you should set
your winning Stop-play point. I usually play until I double my
bankroll ($400). My next session will be three or four hours later.

--------------

My opinion:

OK, so the author recommends a 4-step Martingale on the Don't Pass.

Many time it will work.  Many times that 'craps number' on the come-out roll will be your savior when the shooter is hot.  I am not all that sure that a mere 4-steps is always adequate.

While Martingales can be dangerous, a 1-7 step on the DP is almost a sure thing.  Many times a grand or mini-grand Martingale works excellently on the DP.  Always know the table limits before employing a Marty should you plan more than 4 steps.
