The article is what it is.  You will take from it what you will.  I posted it because I found it interesting. 

The Monty Hall problem still drives me nuts to this day.

In mind I took the "Monty Hall Paradox"--as I've heard it called--a step further.  I'm sure millions have done the same thing, so I'm not trying to create the illusion of brilliance.

Say your doors were large boxes.  Monty opens a box and there is no goat.  Now the crew comes in and totally removes that box from the stage.  A second contestant is waiting in a sound-proof room and is brought in.

Each contestant is told to pick a box.  Since the removal of the box has no bearing on the first contestant and his 2/3 chance of winning, nothing changes for him.  However, our new contestant does have a 50/50 chance of winning.  Two guesses; two different odds of winning.

All because of what the first contestant knew.  Seems very strange to me.
