The Melbourne Cup is Australia's biggest race but is not run until the 1st Tuesday in November.

The only Australian chance is Efficient. He is the best stayer in Australia. Won the race last year, and is only having 2 lead up races before the big race which is unusual for an Australian horse.

Bliss, or anyone from England can you tell me how good Septimus is? With the dominant win of All The Good in the Caufield Cup, no Aussie horse in that race looks good enough to win! Efficient skipped the Caufield Cup this year and if he does not win the Melbourne Cup, it will either go to the Poms or the Kiwi's.
