A question for the computer literate....

Two questions actually...

1.  I recently lost all my casinos and how to download them over and re-install them.  I know that my I.P. address had changed since I was last on, as I check it often.  Even though I logged on under a new I.P., Bella Vegas still knew it was me and I went right back where I was before.  My password is saved and I just logged on automatically.  How do they know it's me if my I.P. is different?

2.  Sometimes I want to print to hard copy of some post.  I highlight it and try to print it, but I can't.  I have to first copy and paste it into Word and then I can print it.  Is there a way to directly print without having to go to Word?

Sam, regarding (1), your I.P. having changed will make no difference because your browser saves visited pages in an area of memory called the "cache", and it does this independently of whatever your I.P. is from one day to the next. The cache makes for faster web browsing because the pages don't have to be loaded afresh each time you visit the site, plus you can also store passwords and usernames.

As for (2), I don't believe it's possible to print part of a web page - you can only print the whole page or nothing, so I think you're stuck with what you've been doing.

Sam - in regards to the printing part... try the following.  It may depend on your printer and browser, but this works for me...

Highlight the area/text you want to print.
Right-click and select "Print Preview"
From here you will get a Preview of the entire page.  At the top of the page you should be able to chose between "As laid out on screen" or "As selected on screen" (This is a drop down menu).  Chose the second choice.

Hope it helps,
Matt

Thanks for the answers.

With Firefox, I cannot right click and select.

I think it has more to do with saved web-cookies rather than the cashing of the web pages themselves. I might be wrong though.

As for printing only a part of the webpage, wouldn't your screenshots software have Select/'Print options?

Just a thought.
