Selling Someone Else's System?

Let's say that someone or some people create a system that has the ability to win consistently at level stakes for long periods.

The creators of the system post it in full on a forum like this with good intentions of helping members.

It may well be that the system finally tanks, but is solid enough for the less ethical system sellers out there to convince possible customers that it is worth buying.

What is to stop these less ethical system sellers from trolling the forum, finding & packaging the system as their own, then selling it to the general public for good money?

Is this not a very real possibility, or am I just paranoid?

How many people out there hold back from sharing their favourite methods for reasons like this?

It is a good question. I think that is why a lot of people will share the bones of the system and then allow the other members to fill in the rest for themselves. In some ways that is fair. It means those that are prepared to put in some work will maybe benefit and the ones who want it all on a plate will have to keep looking. It also prevents the system seller from getting a free lunch

Me. This is why I won't and never will share my best ideas in public. You only have to look at *urph, who took two systems from here and tried to sell them to members of Steve's forum...in fact, DID sell them...then he got busted. I'm not against sharing but I feel there should be limitations. If this forum was private, on the other hand, and immune to leechers and guests it would be a different story, but that isn't going to happen, is it? I'm willing to help design a system at the law study group for everyone, as long as I get input, but no one seems to be interested. Most people just want something for nothing. Out of all the members, very few of them post. It will be a cold day in hell before I do someone else's work for them!

you are absolutely right bombus and I've seen it happen.  no one here is ever going to post their holy grail system if they have one.  I think you and number six are the smartest guys in the room and if you have a holy grail system for me I'll pay you and sign a non-disclosure agreement.  I mean there are lots of smart people here, there are so many sections and so many threads and so many systems it can really take up way too much time trying to figure out which ones to pick and study.  I have already spent way too much time trying to figure out what is the best of the best here (and printing tons of pages) so if someone would just direct me to the damn holy grail already for mini-bac or roulette that would be great and I will pay you and never reveal it I promise and I can prove I am trustworthy.... (I know this sounds like I am setting myself up for a scammer, what I mean is if it is written by someone here who's contributions here I can really examine and judge to be smart and trust-worthy.)  well just a thought...

It used to be such a civil forum people ideas flowing back and forth all for trying to do the good for giving people a reaonable chance of winning at the casinos Thats what  I thought this forum was here for

O.K. Dyksexlic... Now I am starting to have my doubts about your teaching abilities. As I stated earlier I am also someone in the position where I teach others (from children to adults). I take my calling very seriously, as any real teacher does. I am not stupid, but I am not well versed in maths or roulette. Therefore my ability to add to this discussion is a bit limited.  I have learned, however, that wisdom is not always logical, or come by via logic. Sometimes wisdom is reached via a revelation or inspiration. Through the ages a lot of highly intelligent people were berated by their peers for their ideas. Copernicus, Newton, Galileo etc. In the end they proved correct and today we use their "crazy ideas" as everyday fact.

I am beginning to doubt you because your recent posts gives me the feeling that you are not really trying to impart knowledge to us. Rather it feels as if you are simply mocking our "ignorance". I truly hope that I am reading you wrong. A true teacher will never belittle his students who are truthfully seeking to understand. I know there is a lot of people posting who are not giving you the time of day, but then again, there is quite a number who are truly interested in your discovery.

I would love to see your system.  As you may know, I am one of the believers.  The clues that you have given so far make sense and I have been working hard with RX, a calculator, and the good old pencil & pad to try and figure it out.  Last night, I made a startling discovery.  I think I may know or at least have an idea what you are about to unveil.  I also believe that there is more than one way to do it, and I may have found another.  All I will say at this point is that after 2000 spins in RX, I was still in profit and it was increasing.  Very, very slowly but nonetheless increasing.  I do not mean to sound arrogant, but I think if anyone can break the formula (and my method is a formula) it is me.  It is your decision if you wish to unveil this, and I support you either way.  However, after the events of late, I will keep this to myself and I implore you too do the same.

I agree with you and I know that I have been a part of it and I have allowed myself to be sucked into the pissing contest as of late.  I will no longer take part in it and I am here strictly to concentrate on roulette.  This is a great forum and I firmly hope that it does not become simply a place to sling mud at each other.  I know it must be hurting Victor because he has worked so hard to make this a great forum.  We need to stop the negativity at once.  I know I am as guilt as others as of late, but that is over now.  Please everyone, let's be positive and get along and beat this game!

The beginning part of this e-mail was not in the original e-mail (see above).  Charles has fabricated that.  I am deeply upset that he has done this.  I have no choice but to initiate legal proceedings to shut down his site.  As you can all see, I am trying to put an end to all of this foolishness and move on.  I cannot believe that he has decided to continue this slanderous attack on me.  Well, it doesn't bother me in the least.  I know that I have the support of many forum members here, and that is good enough for me.  Now, let's get on with the business at hand and find out how we can beat this game.  Good luck to all of you.

Absolutely, everybody knows that I did not write that first paragraph.  Also, if anybody does want to know the truth, shoot me your e-mail and I will forward you the e-mail I sent so you can know the truth.  What kind of man does something so childish as to fabricate part of an e-mail to make himself look, well I don't know, look like something...Anyway, I will no longer respond to that nastiness.  I believe as a moderator I have the ability to move those negative posts to the pit, that's what I'll do from now on.  Thank you everybody for all of the support.  Thank you Celiza for the great PM you sent me.  It was really inspiring and made me feel good.
