Hello dear fellows.

Today I want to pass the word on you about Windows Virtual Private Server (VPS).

While originally intended to run webpage servers, by the fact they are running Windows OS they are eligible for you to run anything which can be executed on a windows machine.

Let's start by the beginning.

What is a VPS?

It stands for Virtual Private Server. A container which is run inside a powerful machine (originally intended as a webserver) which acts like a stand-alone computer for software purposes. I.e. when you install software on it programs won't tell the difference of being run at this private container versus a real computer.

Being placed at a dedicated datacenter, it has premium connectivity and premium hardware backing it up. Regardless the connection at your end, you can rest assured the software you set for running on your VPS container is enjoying these resources. You simply manage it remotely.

You log into the VPS by means of a remote desktop application. This login information is provided on your welcome email or information center from your VPS provider.

You need to locate the program by locating:

Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection

Then enter your data.

VPS use for online gamblers.

What you can do on your home computer you can do on a Windows VPS.

Basically they give you the ability to have your own Zombie PC to do the tasks you wouldn't want to do at your own home computer because they need to be on too much hours or because you don't want your IP exposed.

Once you are logged into it, you can download and run casino software on it, run your gambling bots when on the road, confident the bot is running on premium connectivity and resources, even when YOU are on a crappy connection when monitoring.

A big plus is you conceal your IP as the software is run at the VPS container and not a single bit is run at your PC.

Where to rent?

As I'm not an affiliate with any webhosting company, I proceed to give you the hints to google for a VPS.

First, use the word "cheap", as in:

"Cheap VPS"

You will be amazed at the amount of companies willing to rent you a container!

Also, you need it to be a VPS running Windows (*NOT* linux), so:

"CHEAP WINDOWS VPS"

If you would prefer to cater to an specific country, you probably will want to add UK and Canada, which are reliable countries.

"CHEAP WINDOWS VPS UK"

Or

"CHEAP WINDOWS VPS CANADA"

Do your homework and don't signup to the first Windows VPS offer you see. Usually scrubbing the web before signing up is the way to go.

Don't really care too much for the hardrive-space, most come with fair enough. Remember those are intended to be used as webservers so 10GB and more as space is the rule.

In general when choosing your VPS you must compare the amount of RAM memory allocated to it first, and then compare the amount of GB transfer/bandwidth.

Remember, your windows VPS container is run at premium facilities and premium servers, so you can rest assured your installed software is given the best connectivity and CPU power, so focus on the RAM: hunt for the more RAM for the lesser buck and that's your package.

P.S. When some providers ban bots at the terms, they really mean big stuff like an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) bots, or a video stream server and those resource-intensive programs, not a little-bandwidth betfair bot or the like.

P.S.2: There are software schedulers under windows, so you can positively run your gambling bots by the scheduler and with software like MacroMagic, you can just setup the VPS container to run the gambling bot on its own. If you have a working gambling bot making you money but you dislike the idea of having your home computer running it all day long (or are on the road) you can really set the starting, logging into the casino and betting initialization as a scheduled task at your VPS and completely forget about it!!! Just logging manually into your VPS just to see how it is doing for the month.

P.S.3: Don't abuse this! Remember, this is private, not anonymous. Don't do anything big enough to rise eyebrows or make a report.

Hope you enjoy having your own Zombie PC! Whether your simply don't want any casino software running on your personal computer or you will be on the road with unreliable connectivity it is reassuring to know there is a computer at a premium datacenter running software on your behalf, without you even being there or having to plug it in  :)

Regards,
Victor

Is it possible to use a VPS to do this:

Let's say you live in the USA, but you want to gamble at an online casino that doesn't allow US residents?  If so, how would you get paid if the address you would put down to recieve your payment is in the US.  I don't know if this is a no-no to ask, but I figured I would anyway.

Thanks for the help!

VLSroulette

Hello, the usual way those schemes go is:

1) There is a citizen from a country offering VPS hosting who joins and give personal data to the casino, setups the account and forwards login info to the player. Usually initial payment is arranged to cover foreign exchange rates.

2) The US-based player matches the datacenter hosting the VPS to the country of residence of his "gambling mule". (I.e. a canandian mule's account is to be used with a Canadian VPS provider, same for UK.)

3) The US-based player logs into the VPS via remote desktop connection, installs the software on the VPS container and logs into the casino with mule's data.

As far as the casino is concerned, there is nothing originating form, or going to, USA-based internet connections. They only see the the local activity and IP address originating from the physical location of the VPS container (I.e. canada, UK, etc.). As a matter of fact, not a single bit of the casino is installed at any US-based computer.

Scheme may be for a flat montly fee or a profit-share one.

Oh! And please notice we do not allow public requests/offerings for gambling mules, but we don't monitor nor care about off-forum communications among friends/members  ;)

Wow, thanks for the super fast response Victor (and the super informative response).  I can't tell you how much I appreciate that!  Thanks for providing such a great forum and all the valuable info.  Keep it up! :good:

Wow, Victor, I've got to say thanks again.  I just got around to actually doing this as there is a lot of information/websites that offer VPS servers.  I didn't want to put up any money until I knew this would work and I found a site that actually gives you a free trial.  For anybody looking to do this it's called (and this link WILL NOT be clickable, as I'm not an affiliate, it's just a useful bit of information)

GoGrid . Com

I don't know how it works really after the free trial is up, as they charge on a per hour basis of GB usage.  Still a little confusing to me, but if I see my bill skyrocketing I'll be sure to cancel the service.

But, as far as what information you gave me earlier in this thread Victor, it works absolutely perfectly.  It's incredible really.  I can't believe I can actually play where I'm playing...it's crazy...I'm so elated I can't even tell you....

Thanks again!

RJ,

Do they give you remote desktop login right away? Do they need extra verifications?

Also, are you running windows server 2003 or 2008?

Just curiosity.

RJ,

Just curiosity.

Here is what I had to do to  make it work:

Step 1: Sign Up
Step 2: In your web browser based "grid" window (it's kind of like the equivalent to setting up a domain) you have the options to "Add New" and then you select one of four options: Load Balancer (I have no idea what that is), Web/App Server (this is the option I chose), Database Server (again, not sure) and Storage (I guess this would just be web based storage).

You can make as many Web/App servers as you want, assigning each of them a different IP based on the IP address' they have given you.  (They give you 10 to start off with, and you can purchase more if you'd like).

While making the Web Server, you can select the following options for OS - Cent OS 5.1 (64BIT), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 (32 or 64 bit), Windows 2003 (32 or 64 bit) and Windows 2008 (32 or 64 bit).  You then select how much ram you want (512 mb all the way up to 4 GB).  Then you select the IP address you want that server to have, and you give it a name.

Then it took about 10 minutes before the server I made was active.  As soon as it was active, I was able to log in via the "remote desktop connection" located in my start menu, and using the Log-In information they provided me immediately upon my server being active.

Each server you choose to make can have different parameters.  So if I wanted one to have windows 08 and 512 mb of ram, and the other to be windows 03 with 4 gb of ram I could have.

But yes, as soon as the server is active (they say it can take a max of 15 mins.) they provide you with the login information immediately.

Very nice, remember to check the physical location of the IP address:

nolinks://webtools.live2support.com/misc_locate_ip_address.php

This location is what the casino will "see" when you use that PC to connect.

Again, good call Victor.  (thanks!)

I went to that website using my VPS and it turned out that the "computer" I was using was located in California.  I don't know how I was able to download the casino software, but I went ahead and emailed GoGrid to see if I could get an IP from the UK.  They said no, it wasn't possible so I scratched using them off the list and cancelled my account.

I did finally get everything set up properly though, at a site called tagadab . com, they're offering 1 week of VPS hosting for 1 pound, and they are based somewhere in the UK.

After I got everything set up, I went to that link you gave above again, and low and behold I was "located" in London.

Good stuff Victor.  Thanks!

I do have one question for you though Victor.  Lets say the bot I'm using uses "pictures" from the screen to figure out where, when and how much to bet.

If I set that up to run on the VPS, and then turn my computer off, how will the bot continue to work?  The VPS doesn't have it's own monitor, so how would the software be able to "see" what numbers are coming out and where to bet?

rjeaton1

Forget my previous question.  It seems as long as I keep the remote desktop connection window minimized on my desktop, the bot seems to continue to work just fine.  In fact, it works at super-speed compared to running on my computer.

Great news!  Glad that you're doing well - sent you a PM too with some questions. ;-)

Just make sure to properly configure you're security software to avoid issues in the future too.
