The teacher will appear

There is an ancient Zen saying, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear".

This means that if you're prepared to learn a particular lesson, the knowledge you need will suddenly be in front of you.

In fact, it was probably there all along. However, until you're ready, it could be presented to you 100 different ways, and it will mean nothing. I've found this to be extremely true in Roulette. Of course, the teacher might not be literally an instructor. It could be a particular system that all of a sudden opens up to you, a videotape, or simply a pattern whose significance you never understood before now and you see it in another system. Try to always be aware of what lessons you are ready for, so you can accelerate your improvement.

Smart people will also understand you must learn something if you want to do it well. Nothing worthwhile comes easy; golf, riding a bike, driving a car, tennis, bowling all these take practice and time to learn. So why not expend at least the same energy learning how to gamble. Here, hardearned money is at stake. If you are going once a year to the Casino for fun and will only bet $100 or $200 and are willing to lose it, than don't waste your time in reading this book. But if you like the Casino life, free room and board, the shows and the free weekends away, from time to time - you must read this as many as you can get your hands on.

A few books is a small investment as compared to golf clubs, golf bag, golf shoes, golf lessons, or tennis shoes, a tennis racket, etc., etc.

You'll spend money for things like that then why not buy a few books. A small, small investment when big money is at stake. Moreover, I don't like losing, do you?

Richard.
