Jakkalsdraai,

Mr Chips

:) Again I agree with you to a certain extent. However i have seen proof of a certain proof of a grail. That is a promise. No system! I promise. But I have witnessed a grail. Out of respect, i will not name the person. Let me say this again ....it's no system. And yes i don't get all of it but yes.......it's the grail....I'm convinced. I f the person would allow me to say his name..... I will....Name only though. Be assured it's out there....

Boo_Ray

It must be ray, jakk :D

Hey herb - thanks for the offer but unless you somehow worked out d's system I don't think you would be able to give me the hints I was looking for. Positive brainstorming is always good but I kinda get the feeling you are about to tell me about every system ending up at -2.7 in the long run (definitely true of every system I have tried so far but I'm convinced there is more to d's system)

But if you do have any genuine insights into his methods I would love to hear them mate!

Cheers!

Jakkalsdraai

:) ray. I saw th light. I'm telling you specificly because you have always been the doomsayer....and with ful right...... this time though mate, i reckon you are actually 100% wrong. I have seen proof whether you want to believe it or not. It 's crazy. The person who showed me is a master. Herb ........ Numerology rules!.........1+2 = 3!

You wrote:  "I would never delete any post from any thread as I see this as a blow against free speech."

You're forgetting that with 'free speech' comes responsibility.

Speech might be free; we are never free from the obligation to the wider society to practise it responsibly.

These responsibilities include a willingness for everyone:

to maintain the rule of law and order (be they societal rules or forum rules)
to show respect and consideration towards others
not to incite hatred
not to vilify along racial lines
not to use foul or insulting language
to show courtesy in our dealings with others
to exercise self-discipline

In other words, we all have a responsibility to try to treat others in the manner by we would expect to be treated.

When those norms of civilised behaviour are ignored consistently and persistently then yes, there's room for censorship, and for deletions for the wider good.

And -- thankfully -- that is exactly what Victor and the Moderators have in mind for this forum.

They are setting standards for acceptable behaviour on this forum.

For that you should be grateful -- anarchy is not an attractive alternative!!

Remember: membership of this forum is a priviledge -- NOT A RIGHT.

Neither is membership compulsory...

We are all free to accept the forum expectations and stay. Or reject them and leave.

As normal Esoito wise words my friend, wise words..... :good: :good:

VLSroulette

Very well put esoito.

Some people tend to confuse freedom of speech with freedom to abuse. If it is their personal opinion you are a nasty <insert 4-letter word>, they believe it is their god-given right to abuse you and their comments should stay under the light of freedom of speech.

Thanks to thread owner moderation, users now have a first line of defense against abuse.

Each user moderates abusive people who come to their threads.

Threads started by abusers with the intent of committing their mistreatment to other fellow forum members get moderated by the forum staff.

It is a win/win situation for all; well, obviously not for those who want to disrupt and abuse the board, but we sure can live without them.

By the way,

Whoever says there is not freedom of speech is WRONG.

Each and every user can start their own non-abusive thread and elaborate as much as he/she wishes and enjoy as much freedom to voice their opinions and engage in productive debate as much as wished, enjoying full freedom and as much website space as he needs to exercise this.

But under this light: the minute the abuse starts, that very minute the abusive user is waiving the rights granted to user giving fair-use to the forum.

This is a "tit for tat" scheme under in exchange to not become an abuser, every fair user there is as much freedom of speech as he wishes, it isn't to much to ask to keep it reasonable, at least this is what I believe, and I'm sure most fellow users are with me (exclude abusers)

There is a line, it is not the same to address one's opinion about a non-working system in these form:

"your system sucks because you are m*th*rf*ck*r, a c*cks*ck*r and a moron"

as opposed to:

"You say your system works, but I disagree with your statement".

Both are conveying disagreement, but –guess what- the insulting one is NOT staying . If (generic) you want your voice to be heard, first learn to talk clean and exercise your right to "agree to disagree" in a polite, graceful manner.

This is how productive roulette debate can take place, in a framework of maturity and respect; As for abusers, they are free to go to other places.

There is place for "TOILETTE debate": over at other places, over here we want ROULETTE debate.

Every fair user is welcome, with arms wide open.

VLSroulette

Dear Rodney,

What we do, we do it with the best intent of helping the roulette community move forward; no need or intention to prove anything, as things simply prove by themselves in time...

Sol true Victor and your conscience is clear I am sure of that but others that say this forum is suxy on other forums and still come here why do they bother come here if there isnt something that this forum is doing right

Lanky said to me this is kind of like a family and I to a degree believe him
So there are squabbles in families as are here is how we deal with them is what counts

Boo_Ray

@jakk

So that person is a millionaire :D

Jakkalsdraai

 ;D Hey B-Ray! I'm just yanking Herb's chain mate!

Herb doesn't mind, he has a great sense of humor lolol.

It's the light comedy hour.....hehehehe.

Ok I will be quiet now and go sit in the corner ....... again!

Cheers
Jakk  :diablo:

BTW.......Ray does know what he is doing. Look at the challenges. Guess we could all learn something there.
I actually officially agree with Herb though. There is no mechanical system that can beat roulette. Again though, that is just my humble opinion.
I believe that there are systems that beat the game of roulette but only because of human intervention. You remove that and you are doomed. I just cannot see that a system can run 100% on auto and beat roulette.
