I'm listening to the stories about that date all the time and I'm interested to hear these people who believe that is the end of the world and why? I know there are few out there and I hope they will share some information with us. Just give me your reasons please, I don't have time to watch videos. Thank you.

"The Final Book" of Nostradamus also predicts that the end of the World will be in 2012. It has to do with the alignment of the stars. Similar to full moon and Spring tide....... except now you will have all of the forces working together against us! Something like that.

Leading up to it. Did you know that hurricanes are 50% bigger and more intensive today than what they were in the 1970's?

Cheers

I'm not a non-spiritual person but I do not believe (neither spiritually nor scientifically) that 2012 will be a cataclysmic event.

A lot of people say that it will be the end of the world as we know it. They believe that the world will change completely. Some people will view this change as a good change and some people will view the change has a bad change. I don't know what is going to happen and I'm not going to guess. But if we get some sort of new powers then that could make gambling, especially poker, very interesting.

Marven

People having "guessing powers" would crash the gaming industry. :D

.....2012 was predicted by the Maya's to be an end of an cycle and an beginning of an new one. There was an item on it on the Geographical Channel. Prettty intresting as how they could read the movement of the stars..... They even used an game similar to football/soccer in knowing how the stars could move........

Important in knowing is that the Milkyway, the Sun and the Earth would be in allignment with one and other.....

Niburu was considered as the tenth planet of the solar system. Many researchers predicted Nibiru passing Earth coinciding on May 15th, 2003. Obviously, they were wrong and the date was updated to Dec 21, 2012 due to miscalculations. However, scientists argue that a planet with such an orbit would eventually either develop a circular orbit or fly off into space and consider these claims to be invalid.

Re.        .        .        .        .         End of the world

I note that  doomsday predictions are open to misinterpretation, does anyone recall the hysteria over the millenium & the Kanungu millenium massacre?

I feel that  doomsday scenarios are relative to our  knowledge of the world ,universe & our development & advancement.

btw why isn't prediction & doom applicable to animals?

eg .  Many animals can predict environmental changes, dogs can detect cancer & death.
Dinosaurs are extinct due to a meteor ,also look at factory farming methods, bovines are well doomed outside of hindu cultures & many species of animals share the same fate.

How exactly was the world defined when doomsday was predicted? your world could be a village, country ,nation, tribe  etc etc

consider the ancients or detached people with limited knowledge of the earth, regions & primitive forms of travel & communication who were inflicted with common environmental
occurrences & natural disasters like.

earthquakes
floods
famines
diseases
volcanic eruptions

The inhabitants in that region have experienced doomsday, their world has ended.
Now consider a modern region or nation on the receiving end of a surprise attack of hi-tech warfare eg hiroshima,nagasaki etc etc.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .      same outcome.

How could you verify that a doomsday prediction is in sync & global?

I believe people mistakenly project a primitive superstitious template on modern people.
surely a global doomsday scenario should be based on modern predictions because our concept of the world is always evolving.

They thought year 1000 was going to be it, then 1991 was going to be it. y2k, then 2002, now 2012 (sigh).
